Created in 2010, the Aurore research program was intended to enrich the expertise of our consulting firm by capitalizing on research and development actions specialized in project management. Today, the program offers its partners a real heritage thanks to the various research projects carried out over the last few years.

The Aurore program is unique in France

By 2010, research centers dedicated to project management were already being identified on the international market, with laboratories grouping together researchers on the same theme. However, this was not the case in France. So, with the aim of offering a French research program dedicated to project management, Daylight, the transformation consulting firm of Blue Soft Consulting, set about finding academic partners to create a unique program.

Today, the Aurore program is an original and singular structure. Established in an applied research approach, the value of the Aurore program is to bring a "toolbox" to partners and practitioners. Research and Development (R&D) would have no reason to exist without business support. It is therefore thanks to the interactions with the consultants of the Consulting division of the group Blue Soft that the research program produces interesting knowledge to answer the current problems of the clients.

The Aurore program is above all :

  • A knowledge "factory" based on the co-construction of knowledge between researchers and practitioners, which will allow us to bring a certain amount of information and knowledge to the group and to our partners, and this is what makes the program so specific.
  • A showcase for the expertise of the Blue Soft group and Daylight. Indeed, within the Aurore program, there is a certain ambidexterity between the consulting and research sides, insofar as the consultants (ap)take some of the codes, tools and skills of the researcher, and vice versa. This hybridization of skills within the Aurore program enables Daylight, and by extension the Blue Soft group, to offer its partners top-flight consulting and research services. As for the researchers, they anticipate what may lie ahead in their field, which is interesting because the knowledge on offer on the market is constantly being called into question.
  • A space for exchange and sharing among peers for the partners. Research meetings are organized and will allow the different organizations to meet. Several professionals intervene, often around the same profession but from different sectors, which will allow them to exchange on common knowledge projects, to take a step back on their practices and to discuss together the different problems and solutions.

The expertise of the Aurore program

The Aurore program groups its research axes around 3 themes:

The structural theme

Research on the structuring of the organization for a successful and controlled project management, the maturity of all processes or the implementation of a company PMO and a transverse structure.

The methodological theme

The study of good practices, the study of reference systems and the reflection on the differences between project, program and portfolio.

The human theme

A study of the problems related to the various actors involved in project management, including issues of skill development, training, monitoring, posture, stress, all of which are related to the human element that will contribute to the success of projects.

We are talking here about structural, methodological and human issues, and not about project success, because it is very difficult to guarantee the success of a project. This is why the Aurore program focuses its work on the control and achievement of objectives as well as on risk analysis.

Research trends in 2022

In 2022, there is a whole stream of research in management sciences that focuses on the definition of practices. What does it really mean to manage? What does it mean to "make strategy"? The research is also positioned around decision making, understanding and integrating the context around the decision maker but also the processes. A whole cognitive, social and political dimension comes into play in the decision-making process, especially when it is made by people who are influenced.
