The beginning of a leader's journey

"30 years ago, the professions addressed to women were mainly communication or business engineering. or business engineering. JI first I first worked in a private bank for 5 years as a Manager of the communication. L'experience was a unique learning experience ; this companyise being men, I realized that there is no such thing as a a only hard hard work that brings you brings you to success. Well surroundedeI have always had confidence in myself and have never put in doubt my skills.

PLater on, I landed a little bit by chance in the computer world. Director of communication for two years, I found this sector fascinating and have decided to take an interested a little more. I then moved into the consulting business in strategic positions. My biggest difficulty in my role as director has been to be considerede as a legitimate interlocutor legitimateme simply because I am, regardless of the fact that I am a woman. We must not take a positiontion as a woman in relation to men, but as an equal. My mission is to build the strategy with all stakeholders and and to guide the teams towards our vision. In order to do this, you just have to be the right person.

For a whileI put my career on hold to take some time off and explore new areas. Being a scuba diving instructor in the West Indies was a very enriching experience on a personal level as professional level.

I then created my company, which consists of two consulting firms, Iléo Conseil and Iléo Niort. Since almost a year, we have joined the Group Blue Soft.

In 2021, the question of the place of women in digital is still a topic. How do you explain it?
?

"It is true that even if there has been real progress since I started my career, the proportion of women in the IT professions remains quite modest. This is probably due to the field of activity and a certain culture.

The technical nature of the digital professions makes it a traditionally male domain. Even today, women women are not very often oriented during their studies towards development or computer engineering. Science may know that brains work the same way, but beliefs and the same way, beliefs and traditions are still very strong.

Ohere has been a real evolution in attitudesand a desire to promote gender diversity in all IT professions (developmentdevelopment, project project management, direction...). But this desire comes up against a reality: women in IT are in the recruitment and communication departments, and some are business engineers. Underneath its very innovative aspects, the profession is not changing that much in terms of development or management positions, most of which are occupied by men.

Nevertheless, today, the lines are moving. Agile methods, the importance of UX, the "no code" are reversing the 100% technological approach to IT. We are more and more in functional sciences, calling on many other skills than the mastery of algorithms, leaving more room for consulting functions, in which women are already women are already much more widely represented. "

Do you think you have a role to play as a woman leader?

" I consider thatn the world of work, we are asexual. Work creates pay. Wage differences should therefore reflect therefore reflect investmentthe day-to-day commitment of a personwhether he or she is a man or a woman, not be based on the gender. It is up to the organization to set an examplenot to discriminate, even positivelybecause we are all equal before work.

The place of women in IT should be exactly where they want to beWhether it's in communications, development or management positions. I, for one, believe thatfeel I don't have a "role of woman" to play, because today all women work."

Do you have a final message for women who would like to work in IT and become leaders?

"A simple message: get moving! Everything is possible, we must not put barriers, when we want something we must go for it. You have to be ready to fight, but women are just as valuable as men."
